I really try to have a colorful variation in therapy. I personally enjoy Nature Therapy and hope to grow more in this area. In sessions I use mixed methods and I really try to have an open approach to therapy because each patient is different and if I have a fixed mindset and approach it may not work for that patient.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults.
I feel that the environment and therapy should be able to match the patients needs and energy. Being a person who believes the environment is also a teacher, the space the patient and I create should be an area the patient feels they can explore safely and with curiosity.
Working with children and adolescents in the school, I found myself counseling students, parents, faculty and administration on how to help improve student success and life skills. Education is designed to mold students instead of giving space for students to reach their full potential. I became a counselor to be able to help advocate for families and bridge gaps to improve educational growth.
My family and I spend a lot of time traveling, hiking and camping. We moved to SC back in Aug. We still spend a lot of time traveling back to the mountains. I also enjoy gardening or what I call "dirt therapy"
Not a fair question, I enjoy movies and picking one is just too hard.
I wouldn't know, counseling others has always been a part of me so no matter what I do or where I would go it would play a large piece in who I am. However if I won the lottery I would invest everything into an account and wait 5 years then only pull from the interest to run some kind of community center.
