My Treatment Philosophy

I don't practice in just one manner. I incorporate skills, theories, and information from all of the training I’ve attended, classes taken, books read, and patients I’ve met. I’ve gathered and collected and honed my practice over the past 15 years, and I think it gives me at least the ability to help people with a variety of issues and needs.

Who I Work With

Teenagers and Adults

What Therapy Looks Like In My Office

A lot of laughing, a lot of crying, a lot of sharing. Mutual care, respect, and compassion.

Why I Became A Counselor

I have always been fascinated with psychology, the human mind, and human behavior. I took psychology in high school and fell in love with it. It was a nice surprise to find that it came fairly naturally to me- it all just made sense. In graduate school, I found that the skills we were learning were already just a part of my every day interactions with people and just a part of my way of being .

My Life Outside of Work

Personal Life

I have 2 little boys who are full of energy and love. We spend our weeknights doing the usual family routine, dinner, bath, and bed. On weekends, we go to the park, watch movies, play outside, Etc. In the summer, their dad and I take them to the beach as much as possible. My personal interests other than being a mommy or a therapist include cooking, live music, going to dinner, reading, traveling, Etc.

My Favorite Movie

I have so many favorites. I love the Back To the Future trilogy … Michael J. Fox , the music, and just the idea of being able to time travel. I love Maleficent because it turns out the most true love of all is the love of a mother. Also, Love Actually, Forrest Gump, Steel Magnolias, etc.
